In 1966 Sheikh Mujib declared 6-points plan at a Lahore Conference. Many Bangladeshi though claim about it, do not know what were those. Those are:
1.The constitution should allow for a confederation of Pakistan in its true sense on the Lahore Resolution and the parliamentary form of government with supremacy of a general assembly directly elected on the basis of universal adult franchise.
2.The federal government should address with only two issues: defense and foreign affairs, and all other residuary matters shall be enthroned in the federating provinces.
3.Two separate, but freely exchangeable currencies for two wings should be introduced; or if this is not practicable, there should be one currency for the whole country, but effective constitutional provisions should be innovated to stop the flight of capital from East to West Pakistan. Moreover, a separate banking reserve should be constituted and separate fiscal and monetary policy be followed for East Pakistan.
4.The power of taxation and revenue collection shall be vested in the federating units and the federal centre will have no such power. The federation will be entitled to a share in the state taxes to meet its expenditures.
5.There should be 2 separate accounts for the foreign exchange earnings of the 2 wings; the foreign exchange requirements of the federal government should be met by the two wings equally or in a ratio to be fixed; native products should move free of duty between the 2 wings, and the constitution should authorize the units to install trade links with foreign countries.
6.East Pakistan should have a separate militia or paramilitary forces.

Banga-Bandhu-The Greatest Bangali
Banga-Bandhu-the Greatest Bangali of All Times
17th March 2009: Today is the 89th Birth Anniversary of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman-the founder of Bangladesh, called him the Father of the Nation. He was given the title "Banga-Bandhu" means the Friend of Bengal by the then Student Leader of Dhaka University, Mr. Tufail Ahmed in 1969, when Sheikh Mujib was just released from the jail, convicted for the Agartala Sharajantra (Conspiracy).
Today we heard so many eye witnesses who saw Sheikh Mujb from the very close contact of him. I was a college student. I still remember everything that came in the newspaper or through radio. I witnessed the people's procession during 1966 to 1969-70. Sheikh Mujib was in fact convicted in that trial with judgment to hang him until death. Because he was one the persons who was involved in killing General Field Marshall Ayub Khan- the then President of the erstwhile Pakistan. Actually it was a true fact. At that time Bengali Community were suppressed by the Pakistani, specially the administration of Lahore. They deprived us from all sorts of facility while the then East Pakistan was the main source of Foreign currency. Jute- the Golden Fiber of Bangle was the main agricultural crop along with paddy & tea was responsible for large amount of foreign currency earnings. But Pakistanis never gave the right to develop the east. It started the dispute between the East & West. Sheikh Mujib along with Maolana Bhashani raised the voice against the suppression. Bhashani told "Massalama" Lakum Dino Kum- means you mind your business we mind ours to Pakistani rulers.
Then came Sheikh Mujib the undisputed leader of Bengal who loved the people very much. And in the reception meeting in Dhaka Sheikh was awarded the title " Banga-Bandhu" and was garlanded by Tufail Ahmed, the Vice President of DUCSU ( Dhaka University Student's Union),now one of the leaders of Awami League.
You the Teens and Young Generation who was not born at that time we saw Sheikh Mujib should listen from all the seniors who are still living. From the talk show as they remember many things that you will never know by reading.
We will continue here the life and legends of Sheikh Mujib- Banga Bandhu.
